Hall of Fame Inductees: In 2005, the Womens Cougar Rugby Club, under the direction of current head coach Tom Waqa, started a tradition to induct coaches, former players, current players who have notable contribution, dedication to the development of the Club and the game as a whole. We are proud to induct the following individuals to our very own Hall of Fame. To all our inductees, Congratulations and thank you one and all. All the best in your future endeavors.

John Seggar
Co-founder and former Coach
Former BYU Staff - SLC, UT
John Seggar started the BYU Men's Rugby team in 1967 and served as the head coach on and off for 15 years. Women's Coach 2000 - 2004
Shane Seggar

Chelsea Willes
Flyhalf Captain 2006 - 2007
BYU graduate - Illinois
Chelsea Willes campaigned from 2003 - 2007. Chelsea is a gifted player who could run and punt the ball remarkably. She holds the record for team's all time top try and points scored. Current 2007 2nd Team All American.
Texann Briggs
Fullback 2000 - 2003
BYU Graduate - Texas
One of the most brilliant fullbacks to ever wear the Cougar jersey. A prolific try scorer and surely belongs in the Hall of Fame. Capped of career with "that" last minute try against Air Force in 2003, to win the final game.
Arin Scott
No. 8 Captain 2004 - 2005
BYU graduate - LA, CA
Arin was an experienced player who came from Coach Seggar's program and adjusted well to Coach Tom's new system. Regarded as small for modern day eightman, Arin held her own. Arin recently got back from serving a full time LDS mission in Thailand.
Erica Rock Kiefer
Center 2003 - 2006
BYU Graduate - Provo, UT.
Erica was also a Club President from 2005 - 2006 and helped rebuild the club to where it is today. She grew to be one of the most skilful and experienced Center to play here. With such staggering pace, say no more.
Adrienne Smith
No. 8, Former Captain
BYU Graduate - Orem, Utah
Adrienne was also an All Star performer from 2001 - 2004. Selected for the Pacific Coast U-23 Tryouts. One of the most mobile loose forward to play that position. Always inspired her team mates with her performance in every game.
Jill Dempsey
Prop 2001-2003, 2006
BYU Graduate - Park City, UT
Jill was a member of that team that defeated Air Force in 2003. An experienced player who contributed a lot to the rugby program, even when she was President of the Marriott School of Management's Student Association and President of BYU's Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization, ranked No. 1 in the nation.
Jenny Sieb
Lock/Flanker
BYU Graduate - Texas.
One of the elites, to serve on those positions for the Cougars. Experienced and mobile loose forward. Jenny was also a Club President from 2003 - 2004. She was a regular campaigner for the Cougars from 2002 - 2004.
Cierra Seger
Flanker Captain 2000 - 2003
BYU Graduate
One of the most inspirational captain to play the game. She led by example on and off the field. An aggressive loose forward who roamed the field like a "Michael Jones" of old.

Lisa Leishman
Hooker/Scumhalf 2000 - 2005
Senior BYU. Provo, UT.
Lisa hails from Canada. One of the most exciting players to watch. She is a complete all around player that could operate from any position.
Katie Young
Prop/Hooker 2003 - 2005
BYU Graduate - Littleton, CO
A dedicated player who played brilliantly towards the end of her career in rugby. Katie was always in the thick of things on and off the field. She will be remembered for that mean look on her face; turns the opponent icy cold. She was also instrumental in getting the Club registered under non-profit organization 501(c)(3). She was a Financial Director from 2004 - 2005.
Kara Longhurst
Fullback 2005 - 2007
Junior - California
Kara is a natural athlete. Regarded as small for modern day rugby, she surprised almost everyone. She is current serving a full time LDS mission.
Chelsey Ward
Flyhalf 2000 - 2004
BYU Graduate-Fort Collins, CO
Chelsey played flyhalf for the Cougars for a long time. She was a complete player at the height of her career with the Womens Cougars.
Julia Hobbs
Position: Utility Player 2000 - 2002
BYU Graduate - Norman, OK
Surely, there has to be a place in history for the woman who contributed to the birth of the Club. There is very little record in the Cougar history books about this mystery girl. According to BYU NewsNet, Julia was instrumental in organizing the first ever practice held at Provo High School in May 2000. We are talking about our very own "Ms. William Webb Ellis" here. Thank you Julia.
