Seven years ago, the Women’s Cougar Rugby Club was introduced to Brigham Young University.  In that short time, the club has grown in experience, numbers, and  reputation.  In this past 2006 and 2007 season, we have fought to the top seat in our state after defeating UVSC, the Salt Lake Slugs, and Utah State’s Aggies.  We also traveled to Boise, ID for an annual tournament, placing first.  We ended the season on a high note in New Mexico, defeating the 3rd ranked University of New Mexico Lobos in Winter of 2007.

     The camaraderie of this team offers a great support system for its players physically,  mentally, and spiritually. We are currently working with BYU to bring our club into a closer affiliation with other club teams.  Hopefully our new association will allow more girls the opportunity to become part of this growing sport.

     Until now, our club has been self-sufficient, relying entirely on players to fund team expenses.  As a close friend, I would like you to help us start our new 2007 - 2008 winter season on a high note as we look to expand our opportunities.  Through our collective efforts we hope to start the season with $5,000. Any amount that you contribute will be applied toward field maintenance, new uniforms, and traveling expenses.  We do have a tax ID number available upon request, allowing you to make a tax-deductible donation. Receipts for any donation will be mailed to you.
